CUSTOM PORTRAIT & OTHER COMMISSIONS
Portrait painting is one of the oldest and most noble genres in the visual arts, transcending mere representation. A portrait is never just a copy of a face: it is at once a document, a symbol, and a dialogue spanning time between present and eternity. In today’s increasingly digital world, the painted portrait takes on special significance. A portrait commissioned for a specific individual is a tangible, physical work of art that embodies the personality, history, and values of the person depicted. It explores the inner world, revealing the character and the subtle nuances of the soul.
The value of a unique portrait or a personal commission extends far beyond its material worth. It is a legacy that preserves memories across generations. A well-painted portrait can still speak to the viewer centuries later. This is the magic of portraiture: it not only captures a moment but also creates a connection across time and represents lasting value.
In her commissioned works, Boglárka Nagy strives to capture the personalities of her subjects using a contemporary visual language, while integrating the classical nature of the genre. When it comes to a work of art created for a personal commission, it is hard to find a more perfect gift for a birthday, Christmas, wedding or anniversary. These works are treasures passed down through generations, imbued with great emotional and spiritual significance and capable of bringing immense joy.
THE PROCESS OF ASSIGNMENTS
For custom orders, following a preliminary consultation - preferably in person - the artist will take reference photos during a brief photo session at the studio or another agreed-upon location. These photos will then serve as the basis for the commissioned painting. The dimensions, subject matter and composition will be finalized during the photo session and the consultation. Completion of the work takes 4-8 weeks from the start of the project; in some cases, this may be shorter. Urgent and short-deadline commissions are available for an additional fee.
In the case of a surprise or gift, a photo shoot is not necessarily required, provided that usable photos of sufficient resolution and quality are available for the project. If photos taken by another professional photographer are to be used, their written consent is required.
In addition to portraits, you are welcome to contact the artist regarding commissions on other subjects; this is also arranged on a case-by-case basis.
To secure the commission, a -50% deposit is required in advance, payable in cash, by bank transfer or via Revolut. Payment can be made in either Hungarian forints or euros, calculated at the daily exchange rate. The second installment is due upon delivery of the completed artwork. Each painting comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

“What captivated us most about Boglárka Nagy’s art is her exceptional ability - far surpassing that of her contemporaries - to render figures, and faces in particular, with such remarkable skill. She creates a fantastic harmony through her subtle use of color nuances. We were able to trace the evolution of her artistic periods, from which we selected several of her works to include in our collection.”

“Boglarka is a sensitive virtuoso whose soul is the very essence - her brushstrokes make up for what we lack in life.”

“I first met Boglárka at my friend László Gyémánt’s place, when she was studying from the Master. Even then, it was clear just how much artistic talent God had blessed her with. I have a wonderful early self-portrait of hers. Since then, she has continued to improve, creating one beautiful work after another; I recently purchased a skiing self-portrait of hers. I still believe that in the contemporary art world, Boglárka belongs in the top tier.”
