“For me as an artist painting is the tool for expressing my relation to life not really in an intellectual way but much rather as a sensual manifestation through this medium. My series titled ‘SUN WATER AIR’ is a love story with life created by vibrant colors, bold surfaces and a pop-artistic approach, a series of works that I’ve been working on since the beginning of my career in 2013. ‘ORIENT’ and ‘FLOATING-SILK’ are more personal bodies of work inspired by my own inner procession and the subtle development of the soul connected to spirituality in a conscious way. Working for weeks or months on these large-scale canvases results monumental figurative pieces falling apart into abstraction when one takes a close look. Building up a beautiful totality of rhythmical, repetitive patterns and a melody of colorful canons gives me a wonderful meditative experience through the act of creation. My recent series titled ‘VULVA' focuses on aspects of femininity and womanhood, which are deeply rooted and inspired by my personal experiences."

Nagy Boglárka’s paintings represent a highly refined intersection of classical figurative realism and contemporary sensibility. Technically virtuosic, her works are never mere demonstrations of painterly skill; their true power lies in atmosphere, psychological intensity, and the archetypal layers that unfold beneath the surface. Her figures often hover on the threshold between reality and symbolic presence, appearing less as portraits and more as manifestations of inner states, memories, or collective sensations. Recurring themes within the artist’s oeuvre — feminine power, transcendence, sensuality, animalic symbolism, freedom, and spirituality — emerge in ways that feel both deeply personal and universal. The influence of luminism is also perceptible throughout her work: light does not simply illuminate the figures, but becomes an almost spiritual substance permeating the pictorial space itself. Motifs such as water, open skies, reflections, and suspended bodies create a timeless, meditative world in which silence and presence carry as much weight as figuration. Within her practice, contemporary visuality and the classical ideal of beauty exist in a distinctive tension. Her paintings are simultaneously elegant and raw, sensual yet restrained. Rather than relying on narrative, they engage the viewer through sensation: gazes, gestures, and reduced compositions construct an intimate psychological atmosphere that invites prolonged contemplation. Nagy Boglárka’s work represents a rare direction within contemporary figurative painting, where technical mastery, emotional intelligence, and contemporary iconography merge into a singular and immediately recognizable visual language.
