‘BEYOND THE HORIZON’ - painter Boglárka Nagy’s latest solo exhibition is once again a personal journey and in a sense, a homecoming for her. The swallow is the bird of freedom, symbolizing migration, cyclicality and the fruits of the experiences she has gained along her journey. Just as the swallow returns to the Káli-medence every year, the artist has now returned to his artistic roots; after all, at the beginning of his career in 2013, her first works were inspired by life-giving water, infinite cosmic space, her family roots and her personal past. These motifs have continued to recur in her art ever since and are presented in this exhibition as a kind of cyclical summary. This compilation, which draws inspiration from the gentle embrace of nostalgia, explores these themes - not only on a physical level, but also on a psychological, emotional and spiritual one, as well as on a creative plane that is far more mature in its visual expression.

Her masterpieces are not landscapes, but interior spaces: important sites of realization and release. It is a sensitive yet liberating celebration, when an artist projects her inner world onto the outside and allows the inner order to be seen from the outside as well. A vulnerable state, the exploration of which requires trust. In the harmony of azure blue, which is the color of silence? Are we able to hear our own thoughts in the silence?

Through the physical paraphernalia and objects of travel, this figurative-realist painter brings to light both the symbolic expressions hidden beneath the surface of simple, everyday life, thereby conveying the energy of existence and the underlying spiritual meanings. In her iridescent works, one can discern her characteristic unique painterly language and quality, a rich color palette, the capture of timeless beauty, a respect for classical values and a touch of contemporary audacity. She is a sensitive artist whose work must be viewed with due sensitivity; in her pieces, the female body - as a manifestation of her own identity - meets the depths of the soul and nature, creating a complex interplay. Her multi-layered universe is deeply personal, courageous, free, lyrical and transcendent. It is life-affirming, playful, and deeply multifaceted - just like Boglárka Nagy herself. The 21st-century Venuses featured in her works convey an important message: self-love and self-acceptance are not vanity or selfishness, but rather an endless well from which we can always give and into which we can always immerse ourselves. In her painting, luminism is a symbol of inner transformation and not merely an aesthetic element. It can emerge from both the outside and the inside through a pure, inspired and creative painterly process.

Water, as a fundamental primal element, has been an integral part of the visual arts since the earliest times; in this case, it serves as a mirror of self-reflection. Sunlight, water, air. This exhibition is a manifesto celebrating life, existence and freedom. On the surface, it may seem light, like a postcard, but beneath it lies depth. It possesses unbridled power, yet we can find peace within it. It is unpredictable, yet it also radiates tranquility. Contemplating the infinity of the horizon holds the promise of new possibilities. Let’s take a deep breath and ask ourselves what we’ll find when we immerse ourselves in it.
